Red face House Prices

Absoultley crazy, we have just put our's on the market, the valuer chappie came round last week to do the biz, wandered round the house, had a peek at the garden, then said..........................

Yep nice little 3 bed with a huge garden, ample parking for 4 to 5 cars, £150K WTF where the hell did that price come from ?????

I know house prices have gone silly, but how on god's earth can anyone afford a £150K mortgage ???

What do you reckon the house prices be like in 20 years time when my kids want to buy a house???

3 million ??? for a 2 up 2 down ?????

doubling every decade would make a 150k house worth 600k in 20 years

what areas that? cos in many areas, 150k wont even get u a 1 bed flat, let alone 3 bed house. mind u, prices here have been pretty static the last year, and are even starting to drop a little.

its the estate agents fees that **** me off. many of them now greadily charge 2% (some even more), which on a 150k house is 3k+VAT. when many houses sell within days, 3 grand for half an hours work is frickin extortion.

take into account solicitors fees, removal costs and stamp duty.. if you're selling AND buying at the same time, you could easily drop 10g's plus. ouch.

Guys,
me and my missus went to look at houses today,we looked round a brand new 6 bed detached with garage and coservatory,en suite etc for only £199,000.persimmon homes in rosyth, shame as our budget is only £120,000 top end,but we should get a 3 bed semi with drive in same development.but in edinburgh you wouldn't geta sniff at a decent flat for that money, rosyth is only 20 mins in a car as well.beyond belief.rant over.

Spent all day in the garden lopping branches off trees - apparently if we get the garden sorted the estate agent reckons add another £10k on the price, so £240k for a 2 bed semi. Gonna let it out and buy outside Tunbridge Wells - 4 bed detached for £195k and a nice bit in the bank!

Me and my sister bought a house 3 years ago for £70,000, and we're putting it on the market this week after the estate agent valued it a £180,000. It's a 3 bedroom semi in brum. Made me smile

i sold my 2 bed flat in barnet which is north londonish for £220k last year we paid 175 for it the year before & have now moved out to herts with a big deposit thanks very much to the loon that paid that much for the flat, i have mates in crouch end & muswell hill & the prices there are scarey as f&ck, £160k will just get you a decent flat in barnet which makes it impossible for first time buyers with 2 people on the mortgage to even buy a decent 1 bed! when will it the **** fall out of the house prices then? the paper i was reading the other day issuing a warning said "HOUSE PRICES LIKELY TO DROP IN THE NEXT 20 YEARS" so basically no one knows

In Sydney, a 3 bedder now with ample room for that many cars in a decent suburb will set you back about $800k, that is something like 500k pounds isnt it ?

Where I lived in Pimlico until last year, a studio flat was about 195k GBP. One of the reasons I'm now in Canada.
