Hovawart Terrier crossbreed
Anyone heard of this?
My mother in law (to be, possibly in the next year or so - you heard it here folks!!!) has one and its completely untrainable.
Was wondering if this particular crossbreed is prone to sight problems, mental problems ???

'cos according to the experts..
"Recognized working dog with versatile usage. Kind and even disposition. Has protective instinct, fighting instinct, self-confidence and ability to take stress; of medium temperament; combined with a very good nose. His balanced body proportions and special devotion to his family make him an outstanding companion, watch, guard, tracking and rescue dog"
So maybe it's been badly trained if the dumpfcuk is too soft on it ?

Well shes been to doggie training things and even the trainer is at a loss to explain his behaviuor - her final thought were that he was partially sighted as he does have a tendency to overjudge distance - ir running at you and not stopping!
Apparently the Hovawart breed is intelligent, obedient (although "I" understand that the latter needs to be reinforced from an early age).
Even if he was partially sighted or even blind if his hearing was ok I'd expect him to be obedient.
I suppose not knowing the exact terrier breed doesnt help...?
