Proof that UK security is a joke.
Two protestors have this morning scaled Big Ben in London and unfurled a banner saying "Time for truth".
Police will not say how the two men breached the high security at the Houses of Parliament.
Well I can tell you. Its easy, just do as I did and drive in. I had two full size N2 bottles on my van as well which could have been any thing as far as they knew. Was not checked at all all day. It,s a big joke.
Chip.

LOL not much of a 'banner' is it.
Doubt if you could read that from ground level. They are doing a public service though by exposing the lack of security.

BBC News 24 were interviewing someone from Greenpeace. Apparently it's not a security issue as "they told the police what they were doing before they started to climb". I hope the terrorists don't think of doing that

From BBC news.
Police arrested the two men - named by the group as brothers Harry and Simon Westaway from Lewes in Sussex - and responded to the breach of security by saying they were confident they "would not have been able to access inside the Palace of Westminster itself".
Greenpeace said they did not encounter any security in getting over two fences and climbing the tower

Nevermind security, what about all the by-standers who probably saw them climb over the fence and just stood by wathcing.
We've all got some responsibility for this countries security, not just the over-stretched police force and military.
If the security was tight enough to stop these stunts folk would start moaning about the freedom and civil liberties. It's typical of this country that everyone always thinks it's someone else's responsibility.

Had this from a scoobynetter who didnt want to post it up himself.
A few years ago a little argument broke out between various security
services. It was decided that a little team would break into Buckingham
Palace and leave a message for the Queen!! It was all recorded on video.
They deeply scratched "She's slept on it but has never been f***** on it"
into the left-hand side wood support between the head and footboard. It
caused mayhem as it was "never thought Possible" Nothing officially has ever
been done as there are too many people who would lose their jobs over the
matter!!. The person I know was a member of that team. They/he where not at
the time serving members of the Armed forces or Police.
He swears its true.

Just another gold star for our joke of a police force!
Will be swept under the carpet like every other mstake they make!
No wonder they concentate on speeding - it seems to be the only thing they can get right!
tiggers.
