eBay, what to do when it gets good
At what point does selling items and earning an income become a problem?
If for example , on the side form my normal PAYE job, I occassionally sell something and earn a few quid is there something 'legal' or 'tax related' I should be aware of.
Scoobs.

If you have a normal PAYE job and you pay tax there, you are unlikely to be questioned.
Of course, what you should do is raise the point with the revenue and they'll provide you with an answer. If you raise less then £7,500pa this way from buying and selling you could argue that this is within the Capital Gains allowance.
If you are buying and selling more than 4 vehicles pa, for example, you should register as a trader. Otherwise, they are unlikely to be too interested in you.
Also if you're declaring very small PAYE earnings (less than around £5,000 PAYE) then you're likely to be using your Ebay trading as a self-employed income and the revenue could get interested.
