Do this journey every few months... There are some roadworks on the 5 just after bristol , mandatory 50, 1 camera .
When you hit Plymouth bout 3 miles out, just pass a large garden centre there is a nice flat bit of tarmac for bout 2 miles at the end of this there is a lay by, this is one of the police's fav's and this bit of road is in papers at mo as accident black spot, 480 incidents in 10 years so real hot at the mo. Camera's on Saltash Bridge, and new cameras in the tunnel but these are speed calculaters, although not active. Watch also as you approach dobwalls 2 or 3 camera's that are active, 40-50 mph limits. Goodluck

Thanks.

I'll be getting on the A30 at the bottom of the M5, from memory there are two cameras on the A30 south, one just after a bridge and one at the bottom of a hill at a junction.

Cheers

When i went in Feb, they'd removed the one behind the bridge. The one at the junction was still there however.

Haven't been down that way for a while but the one at the junction is at a place called Polyphant. It's a complicated junction which is at the bottom of a valley, literally - it's on the little flat bit between two steep hills. Not sure which way the camera's facing these days though - it's on the central reservation and has been pointed in various directions over the years.

In feb it was facing eastbound (i.e. away from Newquay).

Exclamation

M42 roadworks (J7-J3??) have umpteen GATSOs, all of which are loaded, and with a very low trigger level!

Stick to 50mph or get flashed!!!

You need to look here http://www.dcsafetycameras.org/

Every fixed/mobile site is listed. Recently the A30 has been swarming in mobile scamera vans.

Enjoy Newquay!
