I bought the wife a Motorola V525. Almost the same as the V600, but no video and free on a £30 contract with Vodafone.
Excellent screen, bluetooth and menu's are okay to navigate.

I strayed from Nokia and got a Motorola. Horrid nasty thing!!!!
Anyway now have a 6610 and very happy with it. Small, but has biggish keys, colour screen, polyphonics, gprs etc etc. No camera but that obviously isn't important to you if you are considering a 6310.
The 6600 is good but flawed and has few bugs it in (we have a couple in the office) also I find it a bit bulky.

I got a Sony-Ericsson T610. Pile of ****e.
Was ok, but after 6 months, it started putting double letters (sometimes more) when I only pressed a key once when I'm texting. Takes about 5 minutes to do a text now cos you have to keep checking every letter and change it when it's wrong (which is often).
CRAP. Wouldn't have a S-E phone ever again.
Andy.

Walwal,
Is your text message memory getting full, mine does that but only when it's nearly full. Bloody annoying especially as sometimes it takes the keypress to reply twice which ends up sending a blank text
I must say I like the phone otherwise tho. I changed from Nokia as the last 3 I had broke Was going to keep the last one and go PAYG but the address book kept corrupting itself. So far the 610 apart from this little "feature" has been fine, and feels much better made than the Nokias.

Like you say, bar that, it's not that bad a phone, but as I text a lot, it's pi$$ing me off.

I hate motorola's - they fry your brain more and the software is sh1te! Avoid all siemens phones - everyone I know who has one has problems. Nokias are always good. I currently have a T610 (1 yearish now) and am very happy with it. Not experienced the double key problems above but I don't text that much and when I do text I tend to use my PDA via bluetooth!

I have and I work for a bank, not vodafone.
I had a gx20 and it was good, but a little lacking. the gx30 plugs all the holes and has a 1 mega pixel camera. plays mp3 and 3gp video too. takes up to a 512mb SD card. the screen is even better than the gx20 (same res at 240x320 tho), so absolutely nothing touches it phone screen wise. I find the processor slow for arcade games.
If you want a camera phone, buy a gx30. if you want more, ie moving toward a pda, you're better off with something else. I have a sony clie which satisfies my pda/games thirst.
