Don't have a sqaudron number, just wondered if I could trace him, and find out more about what he did, he flew Lancasters, and was a co pilot bomb aimer, he also had a DSO and Bar.

Try google? I found a fair bit of info on the squadron my uncle was in just by typing his name (tho I did previously know which squdron it was), and he used to fly Lancaster's during hte war.

you can write to the MoD directly (the address I got was on their website) and they will send you out a simple form to fill out needing next of kin type signatures etc.
They will then send you everything they've got (just about) - a couple of years back the fee was £25.
Failing that, as someone said, Google it. I got shed loads of info on my grandad from the net, although I had to go to the MoD for official stuff

My Grandad was in the Armed Forces and has managed to contact a load of his old buddies through the net (owns his own PC at 71! ). Try www.forcesreunited.co.uk and there are a few groups/communities on sites like Lycos and MSN etc.

Contact the Imperial War Museum, they might be able to help with squadron history. I would also recommend that you read Bomber Command by Max Hastings; it is a history of Bomber Command in WWII, has a lot about what they did/didn't achieve, and alot about what it was like to be aircrew. It's very good.
