McDonalds phasing out Supersize
"McDonald's is slimming down its menu.
The fast-food chain has started phasing out its trademark Supersize fries and drinks in its US restaurants. A company spokesman says it's part of an effort to simplify its menu and give customers choices that support "a balanced lifestyle."
The official says by the end of this year, super size will no longer be available at McDonald's outlets except in certain promotions.
The move comes as the world's largest restaurant company, and fast-food chains in general, are under growing public pressure to give consumers healthier food options in a nation that has suddenly become aware of its bulging waistline and the resulting health dangers.
Last year, McDonald's added entree salads and has been moving to provide more fruit, vegetable and yoghurt options with its Happy Meals. "

You can now get a McApple to go with your McTuna McSalad. Or perhaps a McOrange with your McJacket McPotato with McCheese.

Do people really think that people will choose the healthy options in McD's and such places? People go there for a burger and fries, if they wanted something healthy, they'd be down the Deli instead.

McDonalds is the worst food (if you can call it that) - I'd never eat one of their products ever! The milkshakes have over 200 different chemicals in them.
You wouldn't beleive how big MCD's really is, or how much is behind it...
Try reading Fast Food Nation by Eric Schlosser, you'll never eat fast food again!

all you get with "supersize" fries is a bigger container with the same amount of "fries" in it. supersize was a great marketing idea - charge 50p or something for a couple of extra chips and some more sugary water - total value approx. 1p

Yeah, I know MaccyDees (and all the others) is unhealthy and don't eat there much but every now and again I do and I don't care two hoots what goes into the food. If I eat it and it tastes nice and I'm not ill afterwards then I'm happy. This is how the majority of people think. Anybody who thinks fast food outlets are healthy are stupid and deserve to end up ill and obese rather than blaming others.

Even if obesity is genetic, doesn't mean you just give up and eat loads.
Someone who is genetically obese who eats healthily and exercises won't end up a 20 stone lard bucket.

Now if we apply that principal to humans, all food should be supplied off the back of moving vehciles, when you are thin and fit enough to keep up you can get fed. The fat and the unfit go hungry till they can get down to a weight to be able to chase the vehicle

maybe they could learn from airports. just like check-in desks, at the food counter at mc donalds have a set of scales and you have to be under a certain weight to be served drive throughs could become problematic, as well as consideration for age, gender, ohh i give up...

The one reason this is occuring is due to the increased number of lawsuits being filed against maccas from stupid fat yanks who want to blame someone for them being fat. Umm, it's you, you porky git, you're the one stuffing your piehole with food, they are just there to supply that, they don't FORCE you to eat it!
The sad fact is that a few of these lawsuits have made it too court and have won! christ knows how.

I have to limit myself to one visit to McD's a week. I could eat in there every day sad barsteward that I am.
If I wanted healthy food, I wouldn't go into McD's in the first place. I've been getting the same order for 20 years, so I'm hardly going to suddenly change into a veggiesaurus anyway.
For the record I'm not a lard ****. I must have thin genes.

You're right about the lawyers and surprises, but in a roundabout way - it's amazing that McD's lost (assuming it was them, and not a cheap equivalent). They have the best lawyers money can buy.
