Question Do I need a special glue?

To fix rear view mirror which has fallen off windscreen or will superglue or similar suffice? Thanks, David.

PS It is illegal to drive without one if I have door mirrors?

You can get double sided stickey pads to refix the mirror from Halfords

You're fine as long as you have 2 door mirrors.

Halfords do a small syringe of mirror / glass-mount phone aerial glue. Sets like concrete. I used some for a DAB aerial, and found it very good. Its less than a fiver, too.

Thanks guys - will get it sorted. Comment on mirrors reminds me of the time many moons ago when I was stopped late at night tearing through London. Copper asked how many mirrors I had on car. I was thinking "bloody hell what's the law on this, I'm in trouble now". I said "Three officer". To which he replied "OK, well I suggest that you use one of them next time". And off he went

Just got the "patch" from my local garage. One thing I learnt is that the remaining patch sticking to the inside of the windscreen, which I was about to try and scrape off, is actually part of the screen itself so be warned! Cheers, David. PS. This was on a Ford Ka, btw.

in a car shop eg motor land, they sell these very strong green mirrow pads that are really very good and cheap.

Use a 4" nail, sorted.

Centre punch the screen first, just to give the nail a start.

Yoza's suggest is a good one, or you can get some tinting film (mirror) and fit it to the outside of the windscreen so it is reflective inside so you get a huge rear view mirror..

lol
