What's a reverse ring? Is it an Extender?

A reverse ring allows you to put the lens on the wrong way round for macro work. An extender ring increases the gap between the end of the lens and the focal plane. Often have another lens in them and then become 2x convertors

Another couple of more specialised places to try: SRB Film and Speed Graphic. Both have a very interesting range of filters, adapters and accessories.

The EOS reversing ring is made by Novoflex, is on page 41 of the Speed Graphic catalogue and costs £189.

Let me know how you get on - I'm a big macro fan. I use extension tubes myself but I believe you can get much higher magnifications with a reversing ring or coupling ring. (Do try a coupling ring if you have two lenses with appropriate filter threads and focal lengths - I got huuuuge magnification using a Canon 100-300L with the 50mm f/1.4 reversed on the end).
