Question Where to stay?

I'm meant to be going to the Lake District next weekend, so far I've no idea where abouts I'm going to stay.

Does anyone have any recommendations?

Cheers

Anywhere is nice, depends if you want town or in the sticks. Keswick is a nice place or by any of the lakes. Windemere is a bit commercial but shouldn't be too bad at this time of year. Borrowdale and Bassenthwaite are both nice (well for camping anyway, bloody cold though at the moment I should think)

Depends who you are going with, and budget.
I agree Keswick is good.
Depends who you are going with, and what sort of budget. The Black Bull pub in Coniston is good, do good B+B, and brew their own beer ( Coniston Blue Bird) out the back.
The drunken duck at Ambleside is also well known, and very good.
My wife and I often stay at Dale Head Hall near Thirlmere, middle of nowhere but food/wine/location all excellent, but quite a bit pricier than the others.
