Soobynet Classic
Hello
Just tried the new (old) Scoobynet Classic 'skin'. What a relief, it feels like a straight jacket has been removed. We just need the 'classic' smilies back now.
Anyone else tried it yet?

It's ironic that the redesign that was intended to improve the Scoobynet community seems to have actually done more harm than good. Hopefully the classic mode will attract a few back into the fold.

FFS, you lot are a bunch of whinging old fishwives, aren't you? For years people have been complaining about stuff like the lack of control over thread subscriptions and a lack of a decent search facility. Now SN's been upgraded to a decent, non-proprietrary BBS software system, all you lot moan about is whether it looks the same as before?!
TBH, the fact that it's quieter just makes it more usable, IMO. Perhaps if some of the muppets have b***ered off then SN might become a decent resource again...

So because we don't have the same opinions as you MarkO we are in the wrong are we??? I had reason to dislike the new look inparticular because it stuck out a mile on my work screen and also because the new scheme hurt my eyes to look at.
We like an old style look and you prefer the new, its just a difference of opinion! Just because something modernises doesn't mean we must change our tastes and like it just because its new.

Its not what it looks like that is important anyway. Its the Net itself which matters and if you are that short of a bit of loyalty then it may be better if you "walk" as you say. Amazing how people are so quick to complain when they haven't got the bottle to run a net themselves. Such a stupid thing to whine about especially when you have the choice of the classic style. Why not just give a bit of praise for the hard work that goes into running a Net like this!

Like Marko I was fed up of the whingeing about the new style after all the hard work, and also the choice of using the classic style too. Instead of all the carping it would be more reasonable to praise their efforts even if you prefer the old style.

Les no worries mate, just that for some it has been too hard on the eyes, me being one and that sort of makes it hard to use as it was before, it was giving me bad headaches looking at it for long periods which I used to be able to do with the old style no problem. I think everyone has appreciated the hard work that has gone into the upgrade, even more so with the fact Simon and Shaun listened to the whingers and provided an alternative.
If you didn't suffer any problems looking at the new look then it would make it a bit difficult to understand the point of view of the ones whose eyes were finding it hard to adjust to. I've got A1 eyesight and the first day I looked at it it felt my eyes were on fire so nothing to do with needing glasses etc

Too hard on the eyes???? Its near enough the same colour scheme as before.
Agree with MarkO - too many people moaning and whinging. If we all paid to run Scoobynet, and were "shareholders" then maybe we could all moan, but its free to use (mostly) so just accept it.
Everyone has their own taste though, so all points taken.
