Making money outside of work :-)
Hi all,
I came to the conclusion a while back, that unless I formed my own company(and it went well) Id never be able to make the kind of money I really wanted to.
So I realised Id have to do it in my own time(or works time ).........then having read this forum for years I noticed there were plenty of people regularly selling stuff/running small companies / making money on the side etc etc
So how are you doing it?? A friend of mine makes a good monthly proffit on ebay(buys at carboots, sells on later) , I trade shares..................

Ebay is a good source of 2nd income for me. I make a decent % of my normal wage without really doing anything.
A hobby I enjoy that makes me decent(cough cough)money per month.

I learned not to want that kind of money
Hope to enter the murky world of buy-to-let soon, I'm told that or shares is the safest.
Well done to anyone with the guts/creativity to do it another way.
(Having said that, I banked six figures in 4 years as an international consultant - tax-free wages for living in dodgy countries - so perhaps that's an idea to add to your list?)

I came to the same conclusion myself a few months ago....having to beg for a payrise after doing well in every review I had p!ssed me off a bit....
I started a small home based business with my wife which brings in around £300 + a month. Not much really if you think of it from a business point of view, but as a supplement to our current earnings its the equivalent of a raise that I would never get at work and does not have a great cost aside from our time (few hours a week).
Drop me a mail if you want more info.......
Cheers
Richard

No harm in looking - email me too
I have LONG thought about this as well and realised that my primary job will never allow me to be anything more than 2.4 children with a 2 bed semi and a mondeo. By all means not too bad a life but if I can do something out with work time to make that a 5 bed detached house, with an e46 M3 and holiday every year then all the better
My secondary income generator is online poker. Poker is a skill game and half the skill is finding weaker opponents to exploit. A lot of online players make silly mistakes like calling too often when the pot odds don't support their call and defending blinds, etc when they should just fold. In an online environment where you can get through hands quickly you get enough of an edge on these foolish players (majority of online players are like this) to take their stack. Occassionally you'll find yourself playing some total fish and thats when you empty them big time. All in all I can make some useful profit from playing a game I enjoy and because I've committed to learning the game I get better and better all the time. So far this month I'm up about £100 from poker alone. Even if I finish £200 up per month thats a nice £2400 a year tax free and in reality I should be able to make more than that per month especially when I move up the tables (i.e. from £1/2 to £3/6 to £5/10, etc)

"You might have your pyramid base just from this thread, Richard!"
Unlikely - I posted up a pyramid thing 6 months ago and needed just 10 people to join at a cost of £10. Puff was lightening quick at deleting the thread
