Which carries least loading, points or a ban?

Obviously depends on the amount of points, i.e, if you get three for speeding (on the first occasion) they're normally ignored. Points are normally declared for up to 5 years, where as a disqualification is up 10 years from date of offence.
LV (who I can't recommend highly enough) ignore any points, but want to know about disqualifications. However, they don't like under 30's and imports.
