New Arrival! Baby Beatrice
Hello 'Netters,
I am delighted to say that our baby, Beatrice, was born at 20:39 last night, weighing 8lb 8oz. After a slightly traumatic end to the labour, eventually delivered with forceps, she was helped into the world and mother and daughter are now fine.
I think i was the most traumatised person in the delivery room - and cried more than the mother and the baby put together! anyway, all is well now, and hopefully i will be able to bring them both home this afternoon.
thanks to everyone who offered advice and support during our scares earlier in the pregnancy, and everyone who has sent their good wishes.
PC - now we are 3!
PS - expect photos soon!

cheers everybody - finally got back from the hospital at about 9 tonight. got to say that 99% of the staff we met during our stay at Whipps Cross hosptial were fantastic. We met most of them as Em was there all last week trying to get induced (unsuccessfully) and then back on monday and today for the real thing. the pressure that the midwives and doctors work under is amazing, but they really make an effort to be polite and helpful, and to try and make your experience as pleasant as possible. The midwife who came on shift in the morning stayed with us at all times during the final stage of labour until the baby was delivered, despite her shift having ended some hours before the delivery finally happened. i'm absolutetly knackered now, and am having a beer to wind down .
good luck with yours, S96 - it'll be here in no time!

Massive congratulations!!!
Glad they managed to get through the complications. Sounds like it was all worth it.
Its great to hear that you had supportive staff at the hospital.
I hope we get the same when its our turn.
We've got 13weeks to go. I'm getting more excitied but scared as the weeks pass!
Hope Mrs.ProperCharile isn't too sore. She should feel very proud of herself...well done!!!
I keep imagining the day we eventually get to bring our baby home.
I imagine we'll be sat there looking at this little thing thinking ...ok now what!! aarrgghhh
I'm guessing this is your first, hope you have a lovely first few days getting to know each other.
Well done mum and dad!
xxxx for the new baby
