A brand new series (at last). It's been a long wait and I'm looking forward to what interesting/crazy/inspiring schemes and characters Kevin McCloud has unearthed this time round.

I have to say, it wouldn't be a place I would be interested in developing. Way otta my league anyway LOL. But, I can't see why anyone would want to build a dream house in Waterloo. It *will* be stunning, and a fantastic investment though.

LMFAO @ the LFO
Q: So what's the solution
A: it's unfair to ask us that
Translates as "there is no answer, we would complain whatever they did".
For some reason they would obviously rather have a derelict building than a posh house. I wonder if they tried to buy it but couldn't?

It's a spec like no other I've seen for sure
I admire their vision and determination though.

As for the LFO - their collective PC commitee style behaviour smacks of envy.

LOL @ doorman
So, the bloke is basically her client for this job.....but she's doing what she wants where she wants it, whether he likes it or not. At least he's just stumping up all the cash for it eh?
I'd have shot her after 10 mins

Where was the gym ?
It didnt turn out like i thought it would.
It was smaller than i thought, and the bathroom in green wasnt to my taste.
But fair play to them......1.2m is a large sum of dosh to 'play' with

The bit that got me, was when she (an architect!!!) was stood in the 'gym' and she said ' i never realised the space!!'
She the damn designer for christ sake, who the hell is supposed to see these things!!
No way is that ever going to be cosy like the place i built, ours is 'cosy' not supposed to be modern granted, but huge open spaces can never feel like home!
Ron.
And another thing, all the people that they ever follow in this series, they're always 'in the trade' somewhere, they don't seem generally to be people who get their hands dirty either!

Thing is though 1.2m donsn't buy you much in the heart of London. In that context, it's a bargin. I know it's 'south of the river' but I bet it will/would sell for a *lot* more.

wouldn't make me rush to use her architecture practice - massively over budget and timetable - and she didn't seem terribly good at project management (why didn't she outsource that?) or understanding pretty obvious planning issues.
LFO were being a pain in the *** but..... to be fair to them she hadn't followed her own drawings which she'd submitted to them (i.e. the brick which she specified!)
not a bad house - as UB says, great value for what it'll be worth now, but a bit industrial for my taste

Just caught the last few mins of it & checked it out on the website. Anyone tape it?
That building used to belong to friends of ours + the terrace of houses backing onto it in Cornwall Road, the terrace having been part of the factory and developed by them, keeping the factory for the husband to work in.

As a show house for her company, i think it will appeal to a lot of Milko's workmates but anyone who watched the program won't touch her with a barge poll! (due to the overspend, lack of management etc.) I liked it though but don't have £1.2m or want to live in London.
That £34k oven that kept breaking was just a joke, funny!
