Our current hoover is on the blink, and having a dog we are constantly having to hoover up dropped hairs..!

Are Dyson hoovers a worthwhile investment.. are they really that powerful and worth the money...!!!

Cheers

old ones were shocking so expect lots of "they are crap" comments- i agreed until we got a new model (animal version)- its very good, not stunning but still good.

T

ps- if it had an auto retracting cable (ala hover) then it would be better.

Short answer is yes, they are good. You may think that your carpets are clean, but you will be amazed at the amount of dust that the Dyson sucks up the first time that you use it!

Don't know whether I am more or less sad than you for knowing this, but Dysons are excellent.

(so the wife says anyway!)

For the money you spend on a Dyson you can buy a good Panasonic and use the 50% saving on lots of cases of Becks from Sainsbury's.

Never had problems with our Pana, bags are £2.99 for 5 so not exactly crippling running costs either. Gets the job done

Got the Dyson Animal (cost about £280) 18 months ago, superb bit of kit, does a good job of getting hairs up, and you WILL be amazed at how much stuff it continues to collect. Also big bonus as it's silver and purple it matches when I hoover the Silver Scoob !.
Good investment, look after them and they'll last you ages, aslo Dyson say they will come out and for £50 quid will make an old one like new (bar the motor), top product, top company and top customer care.

We have a DC05 Motorhead, which is the little cylinder jobbie with a motorised brush head. We got it because we have 2 long haired cats, and the fur is a real problem. The motorised brush head is superb (but they don't do it now IIRC) on the sofas (or it was 'til we got leather), curtains and stairs. We took out the Dyson 5 year warranty, but TBH their customer service is (or used to be ???) very good. My neighbour had trouble with his after about 4 years with no warranty, called the number on the vac, an engineer called that week and replace 7 parts (2 major) and fully cleaned and serviced it for £40. It's run like a dream for 2 more years now.
