Looks like a pyramid scheme to me.....

You buy a CD for 20 quid, and then get your friends to buy them, and when they have, you get a "free" mobile.

Hmm...seen it all before....load of nonsense.

What does sim free actually mean - could I unlock the phone and put my o2 sim card in?

The catch is that for every 1 person that gets a phone, 4 have to buy a CD for 20 quid.

Hmm....let me do the maths....after a short while, there'll be a few hundred with phones, and thousands and thousands waiting for one.......

It doesn't work.

It's a pyramid scam.

For example, to get a Sony Ericsson T610, you need 18 users to sign up to get one yourself.

If you are at the top of the list, 18 users pay 20 quid (360 quid) and you get a sim free phone (prob how much the T610 costs sim free).

Those 18 users then need 18 users each to be able to get one....that's 324 extra people (18*18). Those 324 people need 5832 people to pay 20 quid to get their free mobiles.

...and we're only into the 4th iteration, and those 5832 people need 104976 people (5832*18) to pay 20 quid to get their free mobiles...

5th iteration - 1,889,568 people to pay 20 quid to get their free mobiles.

6th iteration and you need 34m people. Oh, that's the whole population fo the UK wanting a T610...

Oops.

Thumbs up

Scooby96-

On a sim free phone you don't have to unlock anything, that's the sim free bit, you are free to use whichever sim you want.

I have never bought anything other than sim free allowing me to swap sims if reception was poó with a certain provider.

I know the phones used to have more functions too than the equivalent "locked to a network only" models. Not sure if this is still the case though.

Oh, and stay clear of this farce.

I didnt believe for a second that you could get a T610 without a contract for £20 - its the sim free bit that I didnt understand.

Thanks Spoony
