Just heard the track this morning and local Forth Crap FM has it as their record of the week or something
What has happened to the population and how the hell can people murder classic songs like this... thought Ozzy's & Kelly's version of Changes was bad enough but this just takes it tooooooo far

best version of comfortably numb is the Pink Coffee "bee gees" style handbag house p1ss take. Apart from the original of course.

I heard it the other night - thought "these lyrics sound strangely familiar.....". Absolutely awful cack. Suppose someone will buy it, though hope not as I don't want to hear them tearing apart Comfortably Numb again

I quite like it,
Can see how it may pass as a dance track on it's own but if you've ever heard the original and liked it, then you ain't going to care much for it getting the cover treatment like this

Is this the dancey (sp?) one ? If so then the people need bloody shooting.
I got a copy of the Wall for Christmas just for 'Comfortably Numb' and it is a beautiful song with some of PF's best music. How can someone completely kill such a masterpiece ?!?! Grrrrrrr

If we are talking about the same song then the scissor sisters version is a **** take, it's very funny.
Especially the bit where they sing "there be no more ah-ha- haaaa" instead of the scream in the original. Pure class.
Same sort of thing as the Mike Flowers version of Wonderwall- humour.

I know what you are saying but my point is that the Radio station made zero reference to any previous cover of this and are that stupid that they think it's a great dance track and have voted it their record of the week and I quote...

we here at Forth FM think this is even better than 'The Darkness'

I love PF, and comfortably numb is an absolute classic that is regularly belted out, especially in traffic jams . It would be nearly impossible to cover...
At least they've taken it, and turned it around to something new (see the Amy Studt thread for rantings on that subject ). The style makes me think of something that PF would actually approve of, and they will have had to approve of it, as it's got elements in it that make me think of insanity, madness and all sorts of things. In a way, it puts me in mind of something that'd fit into the Wall quite well?
Shoot me down in flames, but I reckon it's a good 'un.

Glad I haven't heard this. Was listening to Delicate Sound Of Thunder in the car earlier. The version on that is my personal favourite, but then again, there isn't a bad track on that double album.
Are there any tracks in the charts these days that are actually original?
