I don't usually put up this kind of thread; however I make an exception in this case.
Just seen JB on BBC4; what a hugely enjoyable and enthralling show that was. To see gifted singers and musicians so obviously enjoying themselves whilst effortlessly painting a vivid, glorious, sometimes impromptu musical canvass with more than a hint of pure, magical genius, the likes of which would surely put Da Vinci, Van Gough, et al to shame, is really something else.
Music is absolutely one of the greatest gifts to mankind. Long may we enjoy!

uhhhh hit me...... 
James Brown's story is amazing with all the ups and downs, prison sentances etc. There was a great program on him about 2 weeks ago on Ch4 i think. The guy has never written anything down and creates new music by singing the notes to his band who then have to work out what he means. He must be a nightmare to work for but rewarding at the same time.

From what I saw of it, Mr Brown looked in a bad way. Great music/musicianship, but IMHO, he's seen better days....

He is 70 something or other. I thought he looked pretty good considering his track record and the fact that he's been in the business for over 40 years. Anyways it's not how he looked that counts; the music was absolutely bostin!
