A428 Cambourne

I have just started to drive down this road daily for work, so are there any speed cameras on the little dual carriageway bit. I havent seen any fixed ones, what about mobile ones? It sort of strikes me as the place they would put them.

There is one camera on the single carriageway stretch before the new bit of dual carriageway, but as far as the Cambourne bit, nope don't think there is. To be honest, in the mornings its pretty full along that stretch which makes speeding up pointless...

I live not far away from there (bit closer to cambridge).
I have never seen or heard of a mobile trap being used on the dual carriageway bit. YET its a fantastic overtaking piece of road and the police probably know that.
Before the dual carriageway opened there they did used to use a layby (no longer there) to park their talivan. these would be either end of the dual cariageway bit.
If you go into cambridge a lot on the a428 they are normally on the first bridge where the a428 joins the a14 near madingley its the one at the bottom of the hill. or in the layby just after this.
havent seen them anywhere else, as they are so busy on the a14 round huntingdon. (Including using a laser down the entry ramps on the a14 to get you from behind.

That's true pbee, They sit on the farmers bridge between Spitalls and the Alconbury truckstop and get both directions from the bridge. The buggers can get you from a mile off before you even spot them....

Well I shall most definately be keeping an eye out for the other cameras youve mentioned, thank you.
I know its utimately pointless overtaking on that dual carriageway in rush hour, I go away from Cambridge in the mornings, but it brightens the drive a little, and can make the difference between doing 30-40mph or 50-60mph the rest of the way. 30-40 is too painful for me.
pbee, that was what I was thinking, its the only place for miles you can overtake when its busy, and they could catch you easily from the bridge.
