Im not a casino gambling person even I do pop down with friends from time to time. I see people blowing hundreds and hundreds of pounds in one go.
I some times play no more than £10 if I do go down just to kill time whilst Im waiting for my friends and it hurst if i loose that (feel better if it was £10 on a round of drinks).
Whats your games, biggest win and biggest loose down a casino?

I quite often go to the Grosvenor Casino on Broad St at the end of a long night. I like watching people gambling big (they all seem to be chinese) & it is easy to get a cab home from there rather than queuing in the cold

Only in Las Vegas

just came back a few weeks ago, decided to have 10 dollars on roulette (first time) and won about 260 dollars, then cashed in, 5 dollars on one of the slots, won 50 dollars, so had another ten dollars on roulette, and won 40 dollars, so called it a night, as it was 3am, and we had to be up at 6am for our flight home

On the Casinos here, do you have to be a member, or be introduced by a member, and do they have a dress code

I play occasionally in local casinos and when I go to Vegas but mainly I play online casinos by "abusing" the bonus systems , made over 5 grand in last 6 months online

Over here you have to be a member or guest, you must apply for membership 24 hrs before visiting , dress rules vary from casino to casino

Rotty, can you expand on the 'abuse' system???

Casino's are for mugs because the odds are fixed in favour of the house in EVERY game and NEVER change. That is to say that mathematically speaking no matter what you do if you play at Casino's for ever you will go bust. Best to play a game where you vary the odds depending on other peoples skill or decision making. Poker being a prime example. But remember the house ALWAYS wins at this too because of the 'rake' so you have to be good enough to beat the other players by a margin that can overcome rake depletion.

£1.50 a pot (average (ish) rake) doesn't sound like much but if you consider that in the last 4 months of online play I've probably won about 300 hands and suddenly the casino (in this case online) had taken £450 of my money ****, I feel sick just thinking about that

The "abuse" system relies on abusing the joining and monthly bonus schemes and only playing at these times

a typical example is ladbrokes casino , you deposit £25 and play £100 of blackjack , they then give you a £50 bonus and you must play a further £300 before withdrawing

if blackjack is played correctly ( charts available on web ) then the return is around 99.4 % , so on the £400 played you would ( on average ) lose £2.40 , so for £25 deposited you would withdraw £72.60 , repeat across many casinos and you are in the money

As I say I play for around 5-10 hours per month and usually make between £500 and £1000

more details can be found here http://www.poundsterlingcasinos.com/forum/ and here http://www.rpoints.com/casinos/

Always read the "terms and conditions" of the promotion very carefully before playing , every casino is different

Thanks for sharing that rotty, most people keep such schemes close to their chest! - I figured it would be something like that

so it's a win win situation?

are you reading this ladbrooks?

seriously, sounds to good to be true and I'm sure they'd have picked up on such a loop-hole...has anyone tried the above link? and does it really work?

Blackjack is definitely the best casino game regading odds if played correctly (ignoring poker) but the 99% return is an AVERAGE and you WILL encounter bad luck, so even though you play optimally you cannot expect to only give away 1%(ish) every single time you play...on the other hand you will certainly outperform on other occasions...these returns really rely on you playing hundreds of hands to realise the numbers.

Used to go a lot J6 M6 Grovesnor and Gala wolverhampton, won/lost 1000/1500 in a night.

Winning is fantastic. Losing isn't.

old cliche but only gamble if you can afford to lose the money.

It is a mugs game though, people always say what they have won but forget what they lose.

I think the most I've lost in a single hand was £450, and that's about how much I've won in a single hand too.

I was at Sergeant Yorks in Luton (renamed now I think) and witnessed one bloke at the roulette table wipe the casino out.. he started on £5 chips, dotting them around the table in singles, then in small heaps, then moving up to £25 chips.. then placing heaps of those on various numbers (I think he focused on the numbers on a quarter of the wheel) and soon the casino had no £25 chips in the rack.. at which point the casino changed the croupier ! and the SAME thing happened again..with more and more casino security/staff watching his every move. Top bloke. Not sure if on other days he's lost as much, but I was mightily impressed.

Rotty.

I dont completely understand that system.
Can you repeat in layman turns. Dont see how it works. playing with £400 you can end up loosing it all.

There is a way to get the Ladbrokes £50 out without gambling at their casino. Something to do with transfering the money out into your sportsbook account and then they count that as one transaction.

Do a search on the internet and I am sure you will find full details. I think Ladbrokes are aware of the software problem BUT until they fix it, it is free money!!!

You arent playing with £400 , you are recycling the same money over and over , there is a slight risk of losing your money on some of them , however if you play the ones which use "cryptologic" software , e.g.

william hill
littlewoods
ritz

and many others

then if you get to the point where you only have your own money left ( before reaching the wager requirement ) then you just take you own momey back and leave

Went to Vegas last Year and decided to have a blast (always fancied it and all that). Blew about $800 over 3 days gambling then won $1,000 on a slot machine

Also got the accomodation paid for (Three nights in the Luxor (upgraded suite)) and some tacky gifts with the "Plus Points" you get for gambling. And a personal Invite back (As a high roller )

Great fun and didn't really cost too much

I used to go quite often. I used to be quite sensible and only take 100 quid or so. I started to bet a lot on roulette though in the end. I haven't been for about 12 months now.

At my worst point I'd bet £100 per spin. I've lost £1000 in about 10 minutes. The most I've been down is £1800 but got that back to losing a grand which is my worst result. I've also been in there and won a couple of grand within 10 minutes so it all evens out.

I used to keep a mental total of wins and loses and that way it honestly didnt bother me at all if I lost a grand because 3 nights earlier I'd won or whatever.

I've been around gambling all of my life and seen people lose everything and I mean everything...businesses, houses, cars, wife, the lot. Only bet what you can afford and don't chase loses and you should be ok. Chasing loses is a very slippery slope.

I love Vegas and did win overall there. Didn't play much roulette there I just stuck to the fruit machines.

How do people manage to walk away with just £50? I remember being up by £250 just to lose it all with a bit of extra because it wasnt enough.

quit while youre ahead. Though in this case it was my first go so i wasnt down loads before i won. Im sure by the looks of their faces when i left i was supposed to carry on, they must of thought i was a muppet just play one round though im too sceptical and just assume the first few wins are a freebie cos they want you to play more and more till you lose big.

Chinnybloke.

Thats good advice about not chasing loses.

The worst Iv been (it not much but its alot for someone that dont really gamble). I put £5 in the electronic roulette and bet on red but black kept on coming up so I kept on betting on red until I had to put another £5 in. lost that cuz black kept coming up. So i put £20 in and bet most of that on Red hoping at this ponit Red must come up. at this point I felt so stupid and really down and p1ssed off with myself for being like this.
Good job red came up and I broke even.

I don't do the gambling thing because it is easy to prove statistically that you will lose overall on any game of chance.... therefore I end up blowing all my cash on cars and booze. At least there is guaranteed enjoyment to be had that way!
