Serious question for a change - How did we end up with things like....
24 hours in a day (i can gather the day due to day/night revolution) - but why in units of 24?
7 days in a week? - why 7
365 days in a year? - you guessed...why?
Year is one cycle round the sun.
Its totally baffling my puny brain. Is there a real explanation to all this before I hit melt down?

correct me if i'm wrong but wasn't it an egyptian or the ancient greeks that measured time as we know it today. however accuracy was not as accurate as they desired hence a leap year where 1 day is added every 4 years for the time lost...

365.25 tbp, hence 1 day extra every 4.
60 secs because that was a base number back in the day...60 secs in a min, 60 mins in an hour. day = 24hrs for earth to spin on axis.
notion of 7 days from bible i think...not sure where months came from?! something non-scientific, much like the 7 day thingy i guess!

Time speeds up rapidly for birds who are at 'that age' and only a child will satisfy their hunger.
For the bloke time is looked at as the next 30 years supporting this brief 'moment of enjoyment'.
