The wife's Clio Cup was t-boned last week and I have opted for a local bodyshop that I know and trust to repair the car, but someone mentioned to me that the bodywork warranty could be invalidated by not using the main dealer???....
Does anyone know if this is the case, or is it a load of tripe?
Cheers, and Happy New Year to all SN peeps!

check with your insurance company - only they will be able to tell you what is or is not valid on your policy, not anyone on here and if Renault say it is ok, get it in writing, just in case!

i think it can be repaired by any garage as long as it's to renaults standard (orange peel optional).
i used to work for a multi franchaise dealer (Mg, Citroen, Jag, Fiat, Etc) and all cars that arrived damaged from factory on transporters went to local back street bodyshop as they were so cheap - bodyshop charges dealer then dealer adds a bit and sends invoice to transport company or manufacturers, sad thing was roofs would be replaced when top deck of transporters came down too far and customers would never know

If you're worried about your bodywork warranty - read the small print very carefully, there's often clauses such as having to have it inspected every year by a main dealer.
The ones I've bothered to read do demand any repairs are carried out by the dealer network too.
