Question

I want to get a laptop on credit, but seen as I have no job as of yet, It would be stupid to use barclaycards joke of their interest rates, so,..

..Is there any credit card companys that offer 0% interest free credit for say the 1st 6 months?

The latest one I have is Halifax, who did 9 months interest free on purchases a month or so ago. Not sure if that offer is still on but worth a try.

If you buy from DABS.com they offer interest free for 12 months on most things. The important thing is that you pay it off in full before the due date or you are liable for all the interest.

They were the cheapest when I bought my Laptop about 6 months ago.

If you dont have a job you'll be lucky to get a Credit Card with a credit limit greater than £500. Although if you have one with a greater limit at the moment they may match it.

Talking

loads around, I bounch between them every 6 months

.....but you have no job, theyll not be keen on giving you a card for obvious reasons, you would be a very high risk what with no way of paying it back(even if you have savings or whatever)

once your employed an on the ladder so to speak itll be easy to get 1 or more

They'll literally be begging you to have a card once you're employed. I applied for one and within a month I had pre approved applications dropping through my door almost every day offering me £8k - the most I was offered on a cc was £25k - FFS

Although a nice nearly new sti could be my next purchase

A friend of mine - ahem - lied when applying for his. Nothing was checked in terms of income or employment. My friend is now happily employed, BTW.

You have it in a nut shell......Its not often they ever check. Tell them you own your house, youre married and have kids and earn £48-55k a year and "Stand back"!!! the credit offers will bust your front door down.

I dont understand, do you mean MY credit or the credit in other ppls name?(thats fraud btw)

My credit history is A1 condition Never paid the credit company a penny as I pay the balance straight away, so I doubt Im considdered high wrisk.

If you mean the fraud, I wouldn't do it, too much like hard work. Although the possible £40k is VERY tempting

£380K? Looks like you live the high life, Luke

If you want to try such a scam look in your local estate agent and look for houses to let, they will be vacent, and history of previous occupants will probably be stored there, VERY valuable information it is as well.. Its all too easy. But you'd never catch me doing such a thing, oh no
