I got as far as working out that the wife covered up killing the husband to protect her sister - having realised she owned her one for the eye.
Then bloody Poirot goes and puts 2 and 2 together to get 5 and hey presto it's the cheated lover who killed him. All based on the premise that someone overheard the "send her packing" converstaion.
And this (NOW GET THIS!) was after Poirot didn't know what "spike his drink" meant, but (!!!) was able to tell that someone thinking they over heard "I'll sort out her packing" actually had heard "I'll send her packing".
Bloody French I say
