Driving done a busy wet road on my way home today and spotted a new sign on the pavement, as I drove past it flashed a smile at me and informed me that I was going 29mph.

Since found out it was SID...

Seems to me to be a good idea. Anyone else ever seen one?

Thats a really good idea. Just the job in a restrictive area where there could be danger for one reason or another.

We have got a similar thing near us but without the grin. It is noticeable that drivers do slow down when confronted with their speed, and no-one can object to it either.

Yes it is.

Appears in Suffolk towns and villages quite often - I've not been " [img]images/smilies/mad.gif[/img] " yet

But it makes you think as well, 'cos you're driving down a road you know very well and all of a sudden this light flashes on - could've been a speed cop with a laser...
