Whats all the rage with getting tattoos nowadays? It may seem a good idea now, but the pain and scarring you will suffer to get it removed.......!!
I must be getting old, coz I find it a real turn off seeing women with visible tatts.
There's nothing worse than seeing an old person with tatts on wrinkly skin.

No doubt I've opened a can of worms here, but I'd be interested to here other peoples opinions.

Each to their own is what I say. I think the right design done by the right artist can look beautiful on a man or a woman. I was in Vegas this year around Easter and saw a girl with a shadow of Elvis' face tatooed on her shoulder - it was a truly stunning piece of art and it complemented her looks very well.

Having said that - some are not to my taste, but hell it's up to them - its their body.

Personaly I like them, always have, then again I would say that, I have quite a few.

Not keen on the skulls etc that used to be so popular, I lean toward the black/grey tribal stuff. Dont like them on girls, apart from the little ones that girlies get on their lower backs

Tats are a very personal thing, think its either a love or hate thing.

I don't like them - they very often look tacky and you get used to/bored with absolutely everything and anything in time!

Many of my contemporaries decided these were a good idea back in the 90's when they were fasionable- black work, celtic designs, *** tatoo (well base of spine) for birds to go with visible G String etc.

Many of them are now looking into laser surgery to remove them- I hate to say I told you so..................but

"I TOLD YOU SO"

On the other hand I know some people who had them done for the right reasons and as well as having some truly interesting designs on their bodies they are in professions where they get to show them off to the best effect.

I'm female and have 3 although none are visable when i don't want them to be (i.e. at work), one at very base of spine, one one inside arch of my foot and the last one sort of on my hip. I had them done for me and no one else, my partner doesn't have any and really didn't want me to have mine done but as i said they are for me and no-one else.

I realy like them on both males and females and as the others have said, as long as they are done well i think they look nice. I think there is still a lot of bad stigma attached to tatoos and many people would be suprised at the different types of people that actually have them.

Anyway thats my opinion's and i'm sure others will agree and disagree!

Got two, had them done for me and for reasons that are very personal to me.

Not a fashion statement, and I appreciate them more with time.

I'll agree, you either love them or hate them

When thinking about tattoos I am reminded of an old female friend of mind, who when the Spice Girls were at their height, had 'Girl Power' tattooed across her bum. And then I think about how sexy that will be when she's in a residential home having her **** wiped by the care assistant, let alone today, cause if I fell into bed with a girl and found 'Girl Power' staring back at me, I'd fall out of bed laughing........

Don't make it a habit myself of going round looking at old people's tat's on their wrinkly skin, but what ever floats ur boat

But on a serious note, each to their own, my wife as a small rose on her shoulder which is covered 99% of the time, so where's the harm in it, the ones i find terrible are the "home made" type that cover the fore arms and woman walk round with em on show

Some, actually, are even spelt correctly which i find surprising

I have 6 tattoos and had the first one done when I was 26 and have never regretted any of them.

All mine are quite large as I figured why go through all the pain for someone to say "what's that supposed to be"

Two were designed for me and the rest are just out of the book in the tattooist shop.

Nicks VR4 - I went to the tattoo expo in Dunstable as well, met some very interesting people.

Tattoos?? Yes, fine - for those without an individuality!!

I like it when someone says. 'It makes me stand out as an individual' WHAT?? It makes you stand out as following the crowd!!

Pathetic on men ................ REALLY awful on women!

A middle aged, wrinkled up, faded, washed-out Tattoo looks about as bad as anything can do!

Be an individual - Tattoos show a complete and utter lack of imagination

All IMHO of course!

Don't have any, doubt I ever will, not my bag baby.

As for girlies having them, my two previous g/f's both had tatoo's, very small and discrete and rather nice, and that's ok with me.

I don't mind them too much, but would prefer small discrete ones than massive ones.

This happens when the tattoo is **** in the first place, quality tattoos which have been well looked after and not exposed to too much sunlight don't fade that much

From the old jokes' home:

"... well, the Elvis tatoo on your left buttock and the Mick Jagger on the right buttock are both really good -- but my favourite is the one of Rolf Harris chewing a bit of string ..."

Lewis, you not dead from old age yet? Nothing wrong with tats as long as they're not made up of the following

1. Dolphins
2. Butterflies
3. Chinese symbols that not even the tatooist knows the meaning of

I understand your concern about this latest "fad" but didn't any of your mates you served with in World War One have any tats?

It's not a new thing but there do seem to be an abundance of trendy types jumping on the bandwagon and I sympathise because now every ****** seems to have one. A tattoo doesn't make you an individual, they just look feckin cool when done properly and when not attached to *******.

I notice those that have them can't spell either as a rule.

Is there a connection?
