I'd like to get a job for the weekends. I work on my own at home during the week and it's make me slightly insane not seeing or talking to anyone. I need to have some interaction with some real people. I drive a van for a friend's shop on Saturday delivering things for a couple of hours, but even that's still quite solitary - just me and the radio, and a little time in the shop to pick things up.

The thing is, I have no idea where to start. I've looked in the local paper but there's not much going. I am thinking of bar work perhaps. Working in a shop would be OK, but it doesn't really appeal that much - being a Tesco boy etc..

The main criteria is meeting people or being around people.

Any suggestions? Thanks

Bar work if you're not bothered too much by the money (unless you get cash in hand )

What about some voluntary work - 3 hours or something - will make you feel better as well as meeting people!

I could do with extra money too, so unfortunately voluntary work wouldn't be possible at the moment, but I might do that if things improve.

Are there agencies that deal with this kind of thing? I only know of angencies that deal with specific types of work - Hays, Reed etc..

You could always be a delivery driver for Comet / Dixons - no common sense / brain power required and you might get the odd freebie

Something challenging would be quite good, but I haven't really got any ideas.

Butkus,

I'm in the same boat. Could really do with some extra cash (not just becuase of the time of year)

I was looking at doing local PC repairs etc but that would be a busman's holiday to say the least.

Maybe I'll go back to the selling **** idea?

Do you know about something, or could you learn easily? Teaching / training, especially not to ******* who don't want to learn, is very rewarding. I taught at a sports club for 4 years, really nice to see people progress, but the same could apply for a school subject, English to foreigners, etc etc.
