So, in the wake of this and this it's all about to come to a head for 'the boys' and Nigel(?) the developer. These two muppets must be the biggest t**ts on TV at the moment, and I think they are about to get what they so richly deserve.

Ok, good program, but tonights house cost £357k (I think) and last weeks was sold for £335k... where did the extra come from, and then this weeks cost £110k in renovation costs... again, where does it come from?

By the end of it I reckon they will have a 750k mortgage!

Exactly. Start with 100K. and about £100K profit so far? maybe 200K if they finish with some winners. Dont appear to have to take into account interest on mortgage whilst houses dont sell so prob more like 50K profit. And they're selling a £1M house at the end ?

Start with 100K, end up with £150K. Jeez. you can do that just by buying and doing nothing for a year in the right area.

The entire thing is a farce.

They ended up making 35k profit on this one, but I don't personally think that that's a very good return for having that sort of money shelled out for all that time, and the risk factor, what I have noticed is that pretty much every one they've done so far, has had a fairly serious problem at some point, so it just goes to prove how easy it could be to think it's easy, and get stung very badly, if they'd had to underpin, and sort what they thought was dry rot, they'd have been stuffed!!

Yeah and that purple bedoom, that was hardly inauspicious(?) considering the reverent, solid feel of the rest of the property. Hardly worth the bother for a measley 20k.

I thought under 10% return on their investment was pretty poor.

At least they named & shamed the dodgy plumber. Looked like a mismatch of pipe sizes rather than bad soldering surely? Should copper pipe not be a tighter fit than that without solder?

The pipe was the right size, but I don't think it had been fully inserted before it was 'sort of' soldered!

had to laugh at this weeks developer (well either that or cry) i have been in his shoes more times than i care to mention.
Those feckin plumbers wouldnt have lasted more than 5 minutes on site and i would have corgi round to inspect there fine soldering skills then it would be goodbye certificate if they havent lost it already.

Dunno if anyone saw it, but did anyone see the numpty on Property Ladder last night who thought it'd be a good idea to put a bath in an enclosed space with walls on 3 sides, with the taps & plug at the end AWAY from the only place you could stand.

Silly silly idea.

Complete ***** most of the people on these programs - £27k budget eventually going to £55k!!

Forget the hot tub (£4k), forget the garage (£3k at least), dont re-arrange all the internal walls (£10k), dont put the lounge upstairs and lose a bedroom and the resulting loss in re-sale value.

I couldn't believe the attitude of the plumbers, and how dodgy was that gas leak!!!

One thing that always concerns me with the houses these guys decorate, is yes they do look very nice, but for instance, the bedrooms... always no storage space! They always seem like show homes to me rather than living homes, if you get what i mean ?

But show homes are dsigned to sell a property. If the place is done up well and the viewers get that "wow factor" 99.9% of them wont even notice it doesnt have sufficient storage for all their ****.

These guys should have listened to the proper developer and done what he said - that way they could have made £000's of true profit!

They did a little better this week, but not much. They still won't take good advice and have no idea what people really want from a *home*.

I though the time wasters were funny, building up their hopes so high, then just walking away. It really annoys me the way they always try it on with the selling price, then get all disappointed when the property sits on the market getting no offers.

I was a bit disappointed that Nigel walked away quite so diplomatically - still he was very professional about it.

they had about 3 different haircuts as well. This show just doesn't add up - what are they trying to prove - that you can renovate and own a 1 million house with a 800k mortgage. Why do they step up to a bigger house after making pennies on the previous one? Which bank would lend you the extra money in the real world? It's a big old bag of ****e, but good viewing as it always seems to go wrong for them -I mean they only made 35K on a 500k house!
