Done it once - ran like hell, fell over and ended up laying low behind a hedge for half an hour - not really worth it for £18!

Its all down to carefull planning.. just select an area nearish to where u live that has good escape routes.. piece of cake if u have no scruples.

some of my less repitable mates used to do it every weekend.

Did it on thursday night, geezer tried to charge an extra fiver so i gave him a handful of shrapnel & said 'keep the change mate'. I got off down an alley whilst he was counting it sharpish

What's so clever about avoiding the fare? If you are so poor you can't afford a taxi, you should be walking home! You knew the approx charge before you got in.

that happened to me 1 week, guy quoted £6 when i got home he charged a tenner! i saw him 1 week later in the taxi rank, about 4th car from the front so i went to the first taxi and asked how much, '£6 m8' said how about a £1 and a bl0w job, driver starts giving me verbal ' told me to get lost as he didnt want that from a man. by now my plan was working, did this to the other 2 cars and very similar response, in fact nearly got smacked. anyway gets to the 4th taxi, the one who ripped me off and asked how much '£6 standard fare m8' i say ok, as we drive past the other drivers smiling like hell and giving them the thumbs up.

i bet the greedy sod got some stick off the other drivers!!!

I've once legged it off from a cab without even getting in it!

There was a queer chap who worked for what is now affectionately called 'Gay Cabs' who once while i was paying him the fare asked me if i wanted to stop and talk for a while! I legged it from the cab and walked round the block so he didn't know where i lived.

A few weeks later i was waiting for a cab home from the boozer - cab pulls up - in a moment of horror, I recognise the nodding dog in the window - legged it off over fields and an hours stagger home.

So the moral of the story is 'There will always be a taxi driver ready to shaft you!!'
