Anyone any experience of EVA airlines?

I'm off to Australia next year on holiday and have been offered business flights with EVA airlines (Tiawans national airline - so I was informed).
They are a fair bit cheaper than others but it's my money so I'm worried it might be crap, I'm not sure if I'd rather spend the extra and get a service I know will be good...

I flew to Taiwan on their national airline a few years back. Dont remember it being called EVA but could be wrong. From memory it was fine, better than BA. Taiwanese women are beautiful so if stewardesses are your thing...

EVA are not the national carrier, that's China airlines (who are a scary airline),EVA are a privately owned airline based in Taiwan. They have rapidly expanded in recent years, and have a relatively new fleet of aircraft. I can't comment on their service, as they concentrate on flights across the asia-pacific rim so I haven't used them myself.

Used to work in Taiwan. Never, ever, ever used China Airlines/Airways (their national carrier). Have a look on the internet at their accident record to see why!
Used EVA Air once (don't recall the plane - a B747 - being particularly old or new), it was ok, but not a patch on Cathay (my usual choice) or BA. However, this was nearly 8 years ago, so a lot could have changed since then.
Still wouldn't Travel on China Airways though, even if the ticket was free.

Eva are very good business class, you should do a search for their website, I know they have one.
found it: http://www.evaair.com.tw
There are many good business deals out there, especially if there is 2 of you travelling.

I travelled on 2 internal Chinese flights using Air China early this year - both were absolutely fine. Pretty basic food - 1 flight we were given a cold roll (ham filling I think) other we had a cup noodle which I thought ok. Safety record USED to be pretty horrendous but I believe they are much, much better now. I'd be happy to travel with them again given the chance.

Air China are the national carrier in China, and are completely seperate to China Airlines in Taiwan. Similar names but two completely different countries and airlines.
