Garage disaster, six weeks to change gearbox
#1
Just got my car back after six weeks. Yes I’ll say that again, six weeks to put in a new gearbox.
I have never before had to deal with such a disorganised company. It is impossible to get through on their telephone line as it is always engaged. I have on occasion been able to speak to someone who after I had introduced myself replied “no, we have no one here of that name.” Of course you don’t you muppet I’m the customer (victim).
There have been a number of excused for the delay in the return of my car such as. “The guy who has been working on your gearbox has had to go and look after his Gran so I can’t tell you where we are up to with it.”
The work was to be carried out under warranty. Apparently the warranty company had sanctioned this work so the garage got under way. However, once the work had been completed it transpired that the warranty company hadn’t sanctioned it and that an engineer would have to come and have a look at the gearbox before any work could be under taken.
I was now in the situation that my car was ready, only I couldn’t collect it until the garage had performed some pantomime to the warranty engineer so that he could sanction the work that had already been completed. This involved another gearbox from another car (don’t know who’s, but thanks) having by broken bits put into it to show the engineer.
After much phoning I ascertained that I could collect my car on the 22nd. Upon arriving it was very clear that the mechanics had no idea that I was coming. The battery was flat and there was very little petrol left in it.
After a brief discussion with the head mechanic about why I was not prepared to pay the bill, then wait for them to get their money off the warranty company and then be reimbursed. I set off.
The petrol station is directly opposite the garage. There was so little petrol that I had to push the last three feet to the pump. After filling up I could not set off, as the battery was still flat!
When I got home I had a general look around the car. The floor mats looked like they had been used to clean the garage floor, there was a hand full of change in the centre console and some business cards in the foot well. The alarm remote had to be cleaned with acetone to remove the cr@P off it and I think I shall just have to throw the mats away.
So a big thank you to Arsey Developments.

Hmm, sounds like it was being used as a pool car while they were waiting for the engineer.
Have you checked it was your original battery and not one that was swapped in because yours was in a better state?
This is about the 3rd rant I've heard about this particular company, against this I've only heard 1 lot of praise for them.
Disappointing, considering they're very local to me
