ChinnyBloke on here has, or should I say "had" one of these RC helicopters. His maiden flight was somewhat erratic, and took a turn for the worse, quite literally, when it flew off sideways and crashed into the washing line.
Last I heard was that it needed a new metal part, which had broken in the incident. I'll mention this thread to him when he comes back from another of his holidays... part-timer...

I tried and failed-after spending a few hours on a simulator I was pretty sure that I could fly the Raptor. I couldn't.
My friend however flew it inside our apartment! (before I broke it)

I used to do a lot of RC aerobatic competition but never got into helicopters. One of the competitors built a helicopter and brought it to a competition when he only had it flying for a week. He was flying it like a veteran which had us all v. impressed.

Was thinking about getting myself an electric one for Christmas here, costs £80. Anyone got one or know if they are any good? Says it's easy to fly and has directional control as well as rotor speed / altitude control. I have seen one on the 'net that has single channel control, i.e. up / down, but where's the fun in that?
