At last not sure of the diameter but it just fits in an olympic plate which is good.

Can i ask what it is, because at the mo i am kind of sided with scoobydooo
Although i am guessing its something to do with weightlifting.

But you try lifting 400lbs on a 2" thick bar??
I suspect you couldnt do 200lbs
The idea behind it is, every competition i do is based on grip what ever event. Using a thicker than normal bar will increase my grip tremendously in the fore arm

ahhh i see, now i understand.
If you are talking pounds (Avoir) then i am 2lbs short but if you are talking pounds (Troy) then i can. I squat about 90-100kgs but i am not aiming to be Arnie.
Are you able to close your hands around that pole ?

My squats 170kg
If you look at the pictures the 3rd one shows my grip on it.
My deadlifts 440lbs, reckon i could pull about 350lbs on the thick bar before my grip failed

Cel olympic bars are 1" thick. Which is pretty **** for grip. Only thing worth doing is the deadlift hold for time. Thick bar work, whether it be deadlifting power cleaning or lifting overhead will shock my fore arms into growing.

Ally Scaffolding is as tough as old boots, I make the tooling for it and is very difficult to extrude, It needs to be heated to 550c and then squeezed in a 2500 ton press to form it, Your knees will pop long before the bar bends.

It will withstand 240NM/mm2, so its pretty tough stuff, they make ally ladders out of it as well as the stiffeners in the wings of 747's. They pre-stretch it as well to take out the elasticity. The biggest problem would be if the bar was balanced on a knife edge as this would concentrate the load in one area. It is very tough stuff, which is why its used in scaffolding.

People i know can pull 900lbs
600lbs is only 6 plates my target for next year
ud better have them sparing gloves too i surgest you wear a helmet steve :P

Hadn't you better ask your mum and dad first before you give their house away.
But you say your ''pulling'' 200kg, so your not lifting it? I dont understand.....
Id say if you tried to lift 200K your not going to have much of a back, knees, elbow joints left etc etc.. crazy.

Yeah, deadlifting is pulling stationary weight off the floor up the full lock out.
If were on about picking up a weight off the floor and above the head that's on the boarder of 100kg atm.
Some many variations of lifting 200kg.

Can never understand why ppl who can lift a big weight think it's great to do it.
Got a few in work. They walk around as stiff as ****.Think their fit but ask them to do anything and they need to warm up a bit first .
