Stayed in the Miami on Rue Nationali (or somthing)... tucked away though a large double door. Inside was OK, but nothing too special. East walking distace to shops and sights. We only when here beacuse a friend at BA got us a good deal for the weekend.

Hotel Rapheal, just off the Piazza Navona. Great position within walking distance of all the sites.
Roof terrace & resteraunt from which you can see Vatican one way and Colessuim the other.
Bit expensive (nearly £600 for 3 nights room only) but a quality hotel. And hey, its where Di Niro stays when he is in Rome. Stayed their in June, bloody hot.

If you want quality, try the Eden. Expensive, but very good. Located just behind the Spanish Steps, so nice and central. It's a Meridien hotel so check their website for details.
Also, do a search on here. Someone asked the same question a few months ago. I think someone on here got him a discount deal at the Eden.
