Robbed! what to do next
#1
Hi all,
I moved house about 3 weeks ago, and we had a number of people come round to look at the old flat(rental)........so packed up, moved out and everythings fine. Until that is I come to use my digital camera yesterday only to find that the 1gb IBM microdrive is missing - along with the case it came in etc etc.
Now the last time I used was when we lived in the last flat, Im am positive I havent seen it in the new house, and I can vividly remember it being on the bedside table in the last flat for many a week. We moved house using a van only, but Im 99% sure it didnt get lost during the move.
So what do I do? go to the letting agents, the police? or just to the household insuance? or all 3 but in which order..........
any responses appreciated
Andy

if u go to the police there gonna want a list of who u have shown round, this could be a long drawn out process with possibly no end result as it may have been sold on
the letting agent won't be able to prove anything
so i would claim of ur insurance and put it down to experience, a bitch i know but without proof of who took it gonna be very hard to prove
bummer really on all 3 counts !

But even so, how are you gonna prove owt?
I'd tell the cops first, and report it "lost, possibly stolen". They'll prob give you a crime number.
Then household insurance..........and tell them the same.
BTW: don't forget the 5 Picassos that went at the same time:

Edited to say: Dazza01 got in first.

Im 99% sure it isnt in the house, Ive turned the house up side down, in a systematic non frantic way......... its in its carry case so its not exactly tiny, so shouldnt be that hard to find if it was in the house.
I know its easy to say oh yeh its been robbed, but on this occassion I reckon it has been, pocked sized item and I just havent missed it until now because I havent needed it! would have been so easy to lift.

oh, damn near impossible to prove, even if the letting agent does know who they showed round!
