Exclamation

Looks like someone signed for my Demon Tweaks parcel on the 13th, containing an anti-lift kit, new springs and solid anti-roll bar drop links. Wasn't me, and I don't have the parcel. They actually want me to go round knocking on my neighbours' doors to check they haven't got it! Interestingly, there was no card left saying I'd missed the delivery and it was at number x. I wonder if the driver nicked it?

What can I do?

BTW, you should see the signature - looks like a 5 year old's

in my experience they regularly leave things lying around, unsigned for, in the vague hope that the parcel will meet up with its rightful owner. when things go t*ts up somebody scribbles a completely illegible signature on the delivery note to get themsleves out of trouble.

It's not that easy to sign on those pda's that the drivers have!

Well I've just called them and they've 'put on search' on the parcel, whatever the f**k that means.

Agree with PC

This is Deamon Tweaks/PF's problem not yours, you did not sign for it or have it.

Contact DT and ask them to sort it it is their problem! they contracted the carrrier, not you!, if you paid by credit card then contact the cc co and get reimbiursed it if is not sorted soon.

PF are not good IMHO

You're right - it is Demon Tweaks problem, but if you something done properly / promptly you have to do it yourself. They just phoned back (fairly quickly I have to admit). They are going to 'interview' the driver tonight. Bring out the truth serum...

Unhappy

i would report it to the police as a theft m8, then it gets more real for the b@stard that has it, and the company / carrier cannot turn a blind eye to it.

It's a bit early for that, but I'm not ruling it out. Good point though, will sharpen their mind if it starts to drag on.

ur forgetting SOMEONE has signed for ur goods and taken them that is fraud and theft m8, im in that line of work m8 and i hear too many times that the driver signed / nicked it, (not saying its him) but comapanies are too quick to give them there cards on a go now and we won't tell deal, and then he's free to go to anther carrier and do the same.

Im actually in "AIR FREIGHT" i work for a company who are a GSA general sales agent for DHL. But i know and use lots of couriers up and down the country.

Basically if third party couriers ie citylink, b/post, nightspeed ,amtrak, parcelforce, tnt and so on and so on, want to move freight on the DHL network they HAVE to come thru us they cannot go to the airline direct.

jllang

Though technically you couldn't report it to the Police as you are not the complainant. DT would need to report it ideally.

you wont report it as you havent lost it...your only prob is the long time DT have spent sending you something.....what mess they get upto on route is not something i'd give a seconds thought to.

go to your CC comp if the delay is to long...simple.

Well the driver has been 'interviewed', and apparently he left it with the people at number 8. Hmmm, we shall see. If number 8 don't have it then it's no more mister nice jlanng.

Cheers

Amazed he just got a scrawl and did not get a printed name, together with the info that he failed to deliver it to the address required

You can remember a surprising number of deliveries tbh & I know, I've 10s of thousands of 'em personally

This exact thing happened to me & I know for a fact that the driver forged my signature, parcel force refused any resposibility so I had to report it to the police.
They said there was nothing they could do about it so just ended up out of pocket - it's all bull****

Well bugger me if number eight didn't have it all along. We were out Friday night and she was away all weekend - still doesn't explain why the driver didn't leave a note.

Lesson learned though, I'll use a credit card instead of a debit next time.
