Expensive to run, but they are safe and do the job (i.e. heat up your house). Costco have 2kW ones with a timer for £55 + VAT.

Got mine from B&Q, 6 "fin", thought it was around the £35 - £40 mark.

Very good, although I was under the impression they are fairly cheap to use, something like a penny a minute??

Wink

well, they are considered more efficiant than an electric convector heater, plus give off a more cosistant and pleasant heat, (not quite as on or off)

But in the end, an electric 3KW heater is a 3KW heater, it uses 3KW !! And seeing it's a heater...I cant see where else any energy could be transferred to!

Costs, assuming 5p (I think thats about right) per kWh.......3kW * £0.05 = 15p to run per hour!!

So anually, say 100 days/year, 4 hrs/day = £0.15*4*100=£60 per heater per year.......doesn't sound too bad to me......!

If you look about you can get them cheaper than £55. I think ours (3Kw) was about £35 from the Cash and Carry (Blakemores)...trick is to wait till spring and get them on special offer
