How can you tell fake Tag watch!!!!!!!!!!
#5
There is no Mikey on the front....
Ok here goes
- It's heavy
- Strap and case are of the same material (most fakes have a cheapo strap)
- Tag logo on the securing clasp (rather than the main one)
- Tag logo on the end of the crown
- Serial number on the case
- Rotating bezel has a nice positive "click" action
- Crown has a thred to lock it against the case
If the fake has all of these then I'd be impressed. Also, take it to Watches of Switzerland for a new battery and if they crush it without returning it to you it's a fake....

I have some fakes from bangkok here, tag and rolex- they are very very very good and have all of the above mentioned things....
You would be hard pushed to tell them from a real one...
But i rarely wear them- i prefer the real mccoy.

aiii my suggestions was scratch proof, does it have the tag logo engraved on the back saying since 1860, should also have some sort of serial number on the back of the watch, dont quote me for all models but Ive just took mine off and had a look over it.
guys, I bought mine from duty free in amsterdam 3 years ago onow for my 21st (well the misses refunded the credit card when I got home ) and I remember reading the booklet (cant be ar$ed anymore) and Im sure it says it should be serviced every year??? Ive neva done mine, is it true? any1 had theirs done, also the twisty thing that turns with the 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 and the marker at the top used to only turn 1 direction and after 3 years of battering its turning both directions now has done for about a year actually.

I bought an ROLEX for £12 from a little place in Thailand last year. My fiancee works in a jewellers and she was amazed at the quality and acuracy of the fake. Mine is an OYSTER PERPETUAL DATEJUST Automatic and has all of those points mentioned above + I never take it off and that includes bath, shower, swimming etc.
It has been knocked about and had paint splatter on it through DIY but the glass remains as new after a rince under the tap.
Only critisism is that it gains approx. 3mins. per month but i'm told the real automatic Rolexs' are prone to gallop also. When choosing this watch, my other half reckoned that 95% of the fakes were not good replicas, TAG being the cheapest available and poorest quality.
I could have a real Rolex, Breitling etc. at trade price but WHY???? My £12 Rolex, I love it long time!!

mine also has a serial number on one of the lugs on the underside of the braclelet where it attatches to the underside of the bezel - three digits/two digits.
Every fake tag I've ever seen has looked fake compared to mine - so perhap the easiest way is to find a genuine one that's the same series as the one under question and compare the two.

I agree I have a number of fake watches and some real ones. It depends where you buy them and how much you pay.
All the fake tag's ive seen are rubbish, as mentioned here differing metals, wrong colours ect ect. but for the £5 -20 asking price what do you expect.
If you go a little higher say £50 - £100 for a fake breitling ect you get a very good watch, A friend bought a few back a couple of months ago, he took one to watches of switzerland, for a test to ask for a manual as he had lost it, they checked it over and sent off for a manual for him as they thought it was genuine.
Now he has learnt that a lot of so called european watches are actually assembled in the far east, so he thinks a lot of the components are stolen from the factories, assembled and sold off as fakes.
As i have a inherited rolex and bought a real tag, a longines and some various fakes, i can honestly say its not whether its a fake or how much you paid, having a real time piece that you have handed over a wedge for so that you can keep it for life and also pass down to your children is a good feeling. you buy a fake and bin it in a few years time.

<looks at TAG on his wrist>
Have to agree with Dapster on these points, as mine has all these things, even the bezel 'click' is still great after 8 years of (mis)use
