Digi Eye device for Cable Box dodgy?

Got one and it only works 20% of the time when I try to change channel on the Telewest box remotely from upstairs.
Tried lots of solutions/remotes/repositions/batteries etc no better.
Anyone else got one/have this prob before I wear the buttons on my second remote out! Cheers

PS tried to pose the q on the manufacturers help & FAQ forum http://www.aei.info/bb/UltraBoard/UltraBoard.cgi?action=Headlines&BID=35&SID=23209 but they wont even put the post up as it is me going this thing only works 20% of the time. Nice one guys you stick with the complimentary posts from your own staff!!
