For those of you who didnt see it. It was very good. The Police taking a serious attitude towards car chases . Some of the bad police driving they showed was scary.

Agreed. Shows the Flip Side of high speed chases, even the police can make the wrong decisions.
The advanced driving test looks very difficult. especially having to do the running commentry at over 100.

commentry while driving is not as hard as first seems. First tried it when friend was doing his police driver training.
Assuming that you are aware of your surroundings as a driver, just think out loud.
ie; 'child ahead on pavement, back off throttle & cover brake'. You should do this anyway, so just a matter of saying.
I am not saying it is easy, but not as hard as you might think.

I came up with a perfect solution to the whole high speed pursuit problem while watching that program.
There we all were, watching a car chase from a helicopter, the cross hairs on the errant vehicle...yup, helicopter gunships. I guarantee a huge drop off in the number of chases.
Forget £1M for an ordinary helicopter, forget £3M for a computer game, spend £4M on a fully kitted Apache.

It was great to see the Police constructively criticising their own. I've spent a great deal of time working with the traffic police in particular and although I am no great fan of theirs, the majority of them are always striving to be better at what they do.
I think their worst enemy is the red mist that we saw descend on some of the officers in the program.
There should be more analysis of technique and chases across the board.

Commentary! Easy! My ****!! You try it at 60mph (let alone 100mph) through busy streets while some absolute **** in a high powered car he's just nicked by dragging some poor idiot out of it goes through red lights and jumps junctions!! Not nice, even worse if your in the passenger seat, just hold on and wait for it to stop!!!
And we do make mistakes, i've spun an astra 3 1/2 times in the middle of Wilmslow Road after misjudging a corner, the look on the taxi driver behind was classic!! Got to say, more and more pursuits are called off nowadays because of the copter, makes life just that bit safer for all!

I must admit that i was a little intrigued by the coppa who was chasing the BMW, complete with burglar and a boot full of swag).
Alledgedly he was driving at up to 138mph (dunno the bandit BMW model), but some of the in-car camera clips seemed a little strange.
There were shots that looked like the police car was following on motorway/dual-carriageway connector roads (i.e. reasonably severe bends) at around 130mph (video footage figure)! Now even in a Scooby, this would be tough, if not impossible.
The chasing coppa also appeared to enter a roundabout at 80mph, which sees a little excessive - even for a trained driver.
Surely in-car video footage can't be tampered with

Does this type of prog not just inform crooks that if they drive appalingly enough and endanger a maximum amount of punters then they face a much better chance of getting away? Had I done something really bad (ohh like 101mph on an empty motorway) I now know the madder and more erratic I get the better chance that they'd back off...should I choose to FIGHT THE SYSTEM man Hmmm...
Mind you I clearly agree with leaving it if its a petty crook driving away without paying for petrol and then racing through town...
