John Thaw at his absolute finest. Forget Morse, he was too shy and retiring for me. What was that car about either, he looked much more at home in a MkIII Granada Ghia

It's dated really badly.

This makes it all the more watchable.

Almost as corny as Randall and Hopkirk.

Had the pleasure of meeting John Thaw when he was in the Sweeney,my first job when I left school was a telegram messenger and I went to his house at Strand on the green in Chiswick, for those of you of know it, when he answered the door, I said gor blimy it's Jack Regan, he pissed himself laughing, but he was a true gentleman.
Cheers

I just bought the whole series 1 on DVD from Amazon, seemed steep at thirty quid until it turned up as a box set of 4 DVDs, completely f**king awesome, if you are a sweeney fan you MUST buy this.
