I am looking at the nooper S5R and S6R which is the best one? I know the S6 has GPS and road number readout which is OK but all i need is to know when there is a camera trained on me! Is the S6 worth the extra money and is it better at finding cameras? What have you lads got?

Wink

The s6 is a better Camera Detector because it know's where the Gatso's are before you get there, but the other snoopers only pick up signals. The s6 also displays what road you are on, what speed zone you are in, and what speed your doing, loads of other bits too. If can spend the extra money then its worth it.

Thumbs down

I have an S6 Neo and, as I've said on here before, I am not overwhelmed with it. The detector is far too sensitive and seems to indicate one bar of K-band pretty much continuously. Maybe it's just trying to err on the side of caution...

The problem is that if it is a laser gun then you could have been clocked at the same time you get the warning. A laser diffuser would help but then two would be better than one as you can be clocked from the rear (sitting up slip roads as you pass) or head on from the hard shoulder. Do the job right and you may have spent £850 ish or more.

Yeah - the S6-Neo version is well worth the extra cash. And you can have the normal unit stashed under the number plate at the front for maximum range finding (while the GPS unit sits in the cabin with you - and you get to keep your ciggy lighter, cos you can hardwire it to the battery).

Turbo kitty -

If you've had your S6 for a while and it was one of the first ones phone performance products and they'll swap it over for you. I know someone who did this.

lozzaloz, it's been swapped once already and I just can't be bothered with it anymore. It's a pity because if it wasn't detecting K-band all the damned time, it would do the job very well indeed.
