Dont rent a motorhome from the UK to go to Europe, most of them limit the amount of miles and charge extra for taking it to europe, you have then also have a very exspnsive ferry/tunnel trip.

There is a place in oostend belgium that rents left hand drive vans with unlimited miles and it is a damn site cheaper than the uk, they pick you up from ooestend airport or you can drive your car there in about 1 hour from calais.

My parents have used them a couple of times and are now looking at buying there own a-class hymer motorhome, that cost more than my first house, they love it apparently

Hi folks, looking to rent a Motor home for 4 adults later on in the year, looking to drive into mainland europe.
It will be in December and I have seen two places that rent for about £700 per week. It's a 5 berth with shower / cooker etc.

Anyone recommend a hire company the they have used with better rates etc.

Thanks pbee, I have looked at the web site and it's about £200 cheaper for a better spec van will definatley use these or one similar.

Any others closer to the chunnel?

Didnt find any in france as good value or as new vans, Oostend isnt far from the tunnel anyways. probably less than 1 hour

Renting in the UK is extortionate - If you get one in Belgium at least the steering wheel is in a better place. There was a place in Troyes in August renting 6 berths from 900 Euro (about £550.00) I have no idea what the place was called, but it was only a couple of hundred yards from the first toll exit as you approach Troyes from Calais and it was signposted as a motorhome service point from the motorway.

I have a six berth Bessacar that was 36k new. To rent it from the place I bought it would cost £1100.00 per week in July and August. An 8 year old one will get you 22k, so it seems like motor home rentals is a good business to be in.
