Ever since I move into my new place 6 months or so ago there's been an E reg Transit Van parked on the road outside my house.

It's untaxed and, to my knowledge has never moved.

I think it belongs to the scum that live next door, but the only language they seem to know is the swear-at-the-top-of-your-voice-all-day-long variety, so we don't speak.

Anyway, I'm sick of looking at the heap and want it removed.

Who do I contact? Police or local council?

I can't believe it's not been clamped or at least ticketed as the rats are quick enough to nab anyone around here for parking in the residents parking slots just around the corner.

Call the local council, they'll have an abandoned vehicles department. Then they can come round and get things moving. while you are at it, call the DVLA and report him for no road tax.

Smash the window at night, petrol, match, fire brigade, tow truck, simple.

Phone the police and say you saw a man getting out of it with a gun. They'll soon shift it

POC's suggestion is by far the most effective, sad but true

Had a dumped car in our communal car park that nobody wanted to know about.Private land & all that.Hung around for weeks despite phone calls to & fro.

Resident whom shall remain nameless prised open filler hatch, inserted rag then phoned the Bill.

"Children playing,petrol,matches,car,bang,dangerous etc."

Car was removed that day.I think it ended up being used for injured motorist extraction practice.

Sorted!

It'll be gone within a week and the owner billed for its removal and hit with a fine from the DVLA.

Cheers.

POC's suggestion will work. Abandoned car sat outside our house for weeks. The council and police had been phoned a number of times and it was not moved. Someone set light to it and it was gone within a couple of hours !!
