I have just seen what I consider to be the worst tacky add on. A BMW 3 series with plastic 5 spoke wheel trims, not so unusual I know, but it had fake cross drilled discs moulded into the trims!

I saw a Ford Ka with a Mitsubishi Evo style bonnet the other day I burst out laughing in the street.

My other favorite is the 'stick on twin headlight conversion'.It is actually a bit of sticky vinyl with two big holes cut in it that you stick over your rectangular headlights thus rendering them about 50% less effective but with bags of 'street style'

My Dad reported to me yesturday seeing a Vauxhall Viva with a wooden rear spoiler attached by 2 shelf brackets!

Otherwise it has to be the Burburry caps on Neds.

Oh hang on, just remembered that Cavelier I saw in Lincoln a while back, with a Chain steering wheel and a American license plate reading "The Bone" how could I forget that!

I reckon its the plastic disc brake's on the rear hubs, to make cars look like they have disc breaks allround, this is indeed the sadest add-on in the world, surely?

Worst thing is, those stick-on rear brake disks are usually cross drilled & grooved, which look kinda bloody stupid if the front ones aren't.....

What really gets me, is a scoob bonnet scoop on corsas & cavaliers etc
& those 5-spoke alloy hubcaps with the black bit behind, so you can't see the steel wheels behind. Oh dear

Who remembers 3 spoke alloys (where did they all go ?), "Oakley Thermonuclear Protection" stickers, Sparkrite alarms (the ones where you had to drill a bloody great hole in your car and fit a key switch, stylish), CB radios with PA systems, them really long springy ariels that stretched from the front wing to a clip on the boot and air horns.
