Some interesting thingson that coasterforce website..
"December 2002 : A rollercoaster at Brighton Pier in England was operated by a bumbling employee with a section of track missing, nearly killing the riders."
And you don't want to go on the Fabbri Booster ride! Seems to like opening its restraints during mid-ride!!

One man has been killed and 10 people have been injured after a crash on the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad ride at Disneyland in California.
The locomotive hauling the passenger carriages broke away as the ride went through a tunnel.
The dead man was found by emergency workers in the first carriage of the ride, which replicates a journey through a Western landscape past falling rocks and waterfalls.
Local television reports said the injured riders were aged between nine and 47, with eight being treated in hospital for their injuries.
Disney Chairman and Chief Executive Michael Eisner said the company was working with authorities to discover the cause of the accident.
Disney named a new executive last year to oversee safety and released a report on efforts to improve safety at its parks, prompted by public concerns in the aftermath of the September 11 attacks.
Accidents in the past at Disney parks have resulted in fatalities and serious injuries.

Came back from there only last week, we had 5 days in Disney and must have gone on that ride at least 5 times every day. Several times during the day the ride would be closed, we were told it was for safety checks to be made, they always appeared to be very safety conscious.
I would regard Disney as the safest theme parks in the world.
Condolences to the chaps family.

Happens everywhere, (see this link on excellent coasterforce site) though happening at Disneyland makes it much more newsworthy .
Still horrible though , and condolences to all involved.

Hello
And for once in the strange American culture of sue, then it's probably justified.
You pay £40 to enter the park, a "safe" environment. Personally I think they should have enough money to make sure the rides are maintained properly.
Steve.
