I've been on it quite a few times although not like everyday regular and never had a major problem with it. The M6 through Birmingham is the worst M'way I know - I've used this a similar number of times to the M25 and it has been seriously jammed on each occasion.

I prefer the M6 by Brum to the M25 by Heathrow any day! At least on the M6 I sometimes get through, whereas I always get stuck going past Heathrow.
Got to drive down to Heathrow from the Midlands tomorrow. Will be going down the M40 to avoid as much of the M25 as possible!

I used to live about a 1/4 mile from the M25 / M20 / A20 junction in Swanley, where the M25 used to finish before they completed it. It was completed while I was living there.
That was back in the good old days when the Dartford Bridge didn't exist, so the tunnels were one each way.
I remember many a 10+ mile bank holiday tailback....
(fortunately I was way too young to drive at that point)

M6 is worse than the M25 for traffic jams IMHO. THe M25 is like a walk in the park compared to the miles of stationary traffic coming up to the RAC and J10A.
The variable limits seem to keep the traffic moving (slowly) on the M25.

NACRO - the variable speed limits weren't helping on Friday night
33 miles from office to home and it took 90 minutes. Actually managed to get over 40mph on the A41 dual carriage way - the only time I did
