Vandals - What do THEY get out of it?
#1
Sometime in the early hours of last sunday someone or some people keyed up all 10 cars in our residential parking area. All damage for some reason was only on the passenger sides?
I'm well pi55ed off, as are all the other owners, but WHY ? It was done in the dark and they were't there too see our reactions on sunday so what are they in it for? Just mindless vandalism I guess?
I'm hoping that after this post I'll feel a bit better ...
I got off lightly with only 2 doors 'keyed'. Others, my girfriend included had all 4 panels done.
Going back to sob in a corner now.

The kids down our road are generally ok, quite a posh area and we live in a cul de sac so its not so much of a problem as there is nowhere to go unless you live here, however the little gets play football in the road and dont bat an eyelid when a huge, heavy wet leather football covered in road grit either glances off or hits your car square on. I have had scratches, dents and a rear window put through, I have found them when I have come back on my path using my garage doors as goals !
They dont seem to bother about cars as a lot of the parents have company cars, I have a one year old Sharan and a tidy 15 year old Golf GTI which I am a bit particular about, their parents all give their cars back to the company including dents after three years !
As for the keyeres, sad little no lifes hoping to get the some attention that they were obviously denied earlier in life, not the kind of attention I would want.

I don't think it is envy as all cars were done including a couple of old red metro's!, a corsa and a h reg mini with more rust than paint.
There is now about 15 resident house with people looking out 24, 7 towards the car park!
Must go as my samuri swords need polishing <ahem>
Just let them come back ...

As a youth I revelled in vandalising corporate or publicly owned buildings and installations such as railway stations, trains, road signs, lavatories, you name it.
But my friends and I drew the line at private property vandalism such as domestic housing or cars.
Ahh, the good old days eh, a better class of vandal, we still had honour....

Yes Seb, I know what you mean - best to stick to public utility vandalism.
The truth is that perpetrating acts of vandalisim is great fun and bloody hilarious - there's no doubt about it. Some times we laughed so much we could hardly run away in time!
Keying cars and wrecking people's homes is not cricket though.
